What types of services do you offer at the centre?
At María Sancho Psychology Centre, we offer:
Psychological Therapy: Specialists in therapy for children, adolescents, adults, and families, available both in person and online.
Neuropsychological Assessments: Comprehensive evaluations of intelligence, cognitive functions, emotional state, and behaviour.
Workshops for Children and Adolescents: Programmes designed to develop emotional intelligence, social skills, and self-esteem. (Contact us to find out which ones are currently available.)
What format are the sessions conducted in?
We offer both options: you can attend sessions in person at our clinic in Sotogrande or have them online from wherever you are. Both formats are equally effective, and you can choose the one that best suits your needs.
How long do the sessions last?
Individual and family sessions last between 45 and 60 minutes. In exceptional cases, we can adjust the duration according to your needs.
How often are the sessions scheduled?
The frequency of sessions is adapted to your needs and goals. We generally recommend starting with weekly sessions. Later on, we can adjust the pace to monthly or every few months depending on your progress.
How is confidentiality protected?
Confidentiality is a top priority for us. All information you share is stored securely and managed only by the team directly involved in your process. We comply with data protection regulations, but above all, we safeguard your trust with the utmost care and commitment.
What can I expect from a first session?
The first session is a space for us to get to know you. We listen carefully, talk about what’s troubling you and what you’d like to achieve. We’ll also ask a few questions to better understand your background and assess which type of support could be most helpful. It’s a first step to start building something together—with clarity and without pressure.
What if the support is for a child or adolescent?
In these cases, we always begin with an initial session with the parents or guardians, where we gather information about the child’s development and current challenges at home or school. We then start individual sessions with the child or adolescent in a safe, age-appropriate environment.
These sessions are combined with family meetings, where we offer guidance and practical tools to support the process at home.
What type of therapy do you offer at the centre?
Our advanced training allows us to offer a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, reflecting our integrative philosophy. We adapt techniques to your individual needs rather than applying a one-size-fits-all method.
Our team includes specialists in cognitive-behavioural therapy, systemic family therapy, EMDR for trauma, Attachment Theory, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). We work with you to select and personalise the most suitable approach, ensuring the most effective and relevant treatment for your situation.
How long does therapy usually last?
The duration of therapy varies depending on individual needs. Some people notice improvements after just a few sessions, while others may require a longer-term approach for more complex issues.
What is the cost of the sessions and what payment options are available?
The standard price per session is €80, including assessment sessions.
We offer discounted packages of 4 or 8 sessions, and reduced rates in special situations such as unemployment, retirement, or for students.
We accept payment by card, cash, Bizum, and bank transfer.
For neuropsychological assessments, the final report costs €395 for children and €295 for adults.
If you have any questions about pricing or discounts, feel free to contact us—we’ll be happy to help.
Do you work with health insurance or reimbursement plans?
We don’t have direct agreements with insurance companies, but many of our clients request reimbursement for their sessions through their health insurance.
After each session, we provide an invoice that you can submit to your provider. Reimbursement will depend on the terms of your policy.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask—we’ll do our best to assist you.
